We Can Do This Together, If You Like

I used to drink wine every night. A glass or two. I don’t anymore. I still drink a little on “special” occasions: vacations, holidays, or the 19th hole. But every night. No. And I feel really great about it. Do you have a goal that might include drinking less? If you do, there is a lot of help available.

If you’ve read Mostly Sober: A Love Story and a Road Trip, thank you for joining Annie on her journey to alcohol minimization. It’s not easy, but it’s so worth it. I hope Annie’s struggles, failures, and eventual triumphs will help you see your way to drink less, if that is your intention.

You want to have a healthy body and mind. We all deserve that, but we must be responsible for our part in those life-affirming goals.

I’ve fallen away from my determination to minimize my habit. But I’ve gotten back up and tried again. Changing an ingrained habit may entail backslides. Accept them, dust yourself off, and get back on track. You will still be moving ahead.

I’ve gotten a lot of help from podcasts, apps, and communities. We are so fortunate. None of these resources were here when Annie became mostly sober in 1983.
